The process of divorce varies in countries. There are two main types of divorce namely no-fault and at-fault divorce. In former type the divorce doesn’t require a proof for fault. Both the parties can apply for the divorce. The at-fault divorce is given only when a fault has been proved by the opposition party. There are also other types of divorces like summary, collaborative and mediated divorce. The divorces are becoming a serious issue in all the countries. In United States a study was made on 2008 and it was found that 40 percent of marriages broken as divorce. In United Kingdom from 1995 to 2010 in every three marriages one ended in divorce. To permit divorce legally every country has some act. In India the act called Special Marriage Act was passed in 1954. The main reasons for divorce are disloyalty, adultery and persons may be addicted to alcohol and gambling. It was also found that most of the divorce cases are applied by the wives. There are also countries and religions which do not allow divorces.
